One day Danny went to the museum. He wanted to see what was inside.

有一天，丹尼去參觀博物館，他想進去一探究竟。

He saw Indians. He saw bears. He saw Eskimos. He saw guns. He saw swords. And he saw ......DINOSAUR! Danny loved dinosaurs. He wished he had one.

在裡面他看到了印地安人、大熊、愛斯基摩人、長槍、長劍、他還看到了～～～恐龍。其實，丹尼非常喜歡恐龍，他很想要擁有一隻屬於自己的恐龍。

"I'm sorry they are not real," said Danny. "It would be nice to play with a dinosaur." "And I think it would be nice to play with you," said a voice. "Can you?" said Danny. 　　

於是，丹尼幻想著說：「如果能跟他們玩該有多好啊，只可惜他們不是真的。」突然有一個聲音傳來，「我想能跟你一起玩應該很好玩吧！」丹尼驚訝的說：「我可以跟你一起玩嗎？」

"Yes," said the dinosaur. "Oh, good," said Danny. "What can we do?" "I can take you for a ride," said the dinosaur. He put his head down so Danny could get on him.

恐龍回答：「當然可以啊！」丹尼興奮的大叫：「哇，太棒了！我們可以玩什麼呢？」恐龍說：「我可以載你去兜風。」話一說完，恐龍就低下頭讓丹尼坐上它的背。

"Let's go!" said Danny. A policeman stared at them. He had never seen a dinosaur stop for a red light.

丹尼大喊：「出發囉！」站在路上的警察呆若木雞地看著丹尼和恐龍走過街頭，因為他從來沒見過恐龍會等紅綠燈。

The dinosaur was so tall Danny had to hold up the ropes for him. "Look out!" said Danny.

恐龍實在太高了，丹尼得幫它拉高電線，好讓恐龍壓低身子走過去。（看見恐龍被密密麻麻的電線纏住時，丹尼大喊）「小心！」

"Bow wow!" said a dog. "He thinks you are a car," said Danny. "Go away, dog. We are not a car." "I can make a noise like a car," said the dinosaur. "Honk! Honk! Honk!"

在路上，一隻小狗汪汪叫著，丹尼提醒恐龍：「小心！它以為你是車子，喂，小狗，走開，我們不是車子。」「你聽，我會學車子的喇叭聲，叭，叭，叭！」恐龍說。

"What big rocks," said the dinosaur. "They are not rocks," said Danny, "They are buildings." "I love to climb," said the dinosaur. "Down, boy!" said Danny.

「哇，好大的石頭啊！」恐龍驚訝的說，「那不是石頭，是房子。」丹尼向恐龍解釋。「我好想爬上去。」（話一說完，恐龍便作勢抬起腳要往上爬）丹尼嚇的大叫：「啊，快點下來！」

The dinosaur had to be very careful not to knock over houses or stores with his long tail. Some people were waiting for a bus. They rode on the dinosaur's tail instead.

恐龍得小心翼翼的走在路上，以免它長長的尾巴會撞倒經過的房子和商店。有些在路邊等公車的人索性就站在恐龍的尾巴上，搭一下免費的便車。

"All who want to cross the street may walk on my back." said the dinosaur. "It's very nice of you to help me with my bundles," said a lady.

「要過馬路的人可以直接從我的背上走過去，」恐龍樂意的說。（恐龍抱著一位女士過馬路）「你人真好，幫我提包裹，」那位女士謝謝恐龍說。

Danny and the dinosaur went all over town and had lots of fun. "It's good to take an hour or two off after a hundred million years," said the dinosaur. They even looked at the ball game. "Hit the ball," said Danny. "Hit a home run," said the dinosaur.

和丹尼走遍整個鎮上玩的不亦樂乎的恐龍說：「經過這十幾億年的時間，能給自己放個假休息一兩個鐘頭，這種感覺真好。」他們甚至去看了場棒球賽，丹尼大喊：「打擊出去。」恐龍則大叫：「來一支全壘打吧！」

"I wish we had a boat," said Danny. "Who needs a boat? I can swim," said the dinosaur. "Toot, toot!" went the boats. "Toot, toot!" went Danny and the dinosaur.

（在他們走到港口時）丹尼有點失望的說：「真希望我們現在就有一艘船！」「誰說我們需要船，別忘了我可是會游泳的！」恐龍得意的說。「嘟～嘟～」一艘船駛過港口發出的鳴聲，丹尼和恐龍模仿船鳴聲，也發出「嘟～嘟～」的聲音。

"Oh, what lovely green grass!" said the dinosaur. "I haven't eaten any of that for a very long time." "Wait," said Danny. "See what it says." They both had ice cream instead.

「哇，瞧這些秀色可餐的嫩綠青草，」恐龍發出讚嘆聲並說，「我已經好久沒吃這些嫩綠的青草了。」（當恐龍準備享受這一份青草大餐時）丹尼大叫制止恐龍：「等一等，看看上面寫的。」（一個「PLEASE KEEP OFF（非請必入）」警告標誌就立在草地上）後來，他們選擇吃冰淇淋解饞。

"Let's go to the zoo and see the animals," said Danny. Everybody cam running to see the dinosaur.

「我們去動物園看動物吧，」丹尼提議說。（結果，恐龍的出現在動物園裡引起一陣騷動，丹尼和恐龍不僅看不成動物，還成了被看的對象。）動物園的每個人都跑過來好奇的圍著恐龍看。

Nobody stayed to see the lions. Nobody stayed to see the elephants.

沒有人想看獅子。沒有人想看大象。

Nobody stayed to see the monkeys. And nobody stayed to see the seals, giraffes or hippos, either.

沒有人想看猴子。也沒有人想看海豹、長頸鹿、或河馬。

"Please go away so the animals will get looked at," said the zoo man. "Let's find my friends," said Danny. "Very well," said the dinosaur.

（眼看情況一發不可收拾，動物園管理員出來勸說了）「請你們離開，這樣才會有人去看其它動物，」動物園管理員大聲疾呼。「不如，我們去找我的朋友吧，」丹尼建議，恐龍毫不猶豫的附和：「好啊！」
